NEWTON AREAS PAVEMENT PARKERS:
("The Avenue" - Newton Abbot - near Balls Corner.)
Are they bovvered? Clearly not - but these pavement parkers are a real nuisance,
as well as being selfish and inconsiderate these people are endangering the lives of others -
in particular cyclists who may be using the cycleway or the road alongside.
INCIDENTALLY THESE PHOTOS ARE NOT PART OF A STAKE OUT, MERELY ODD SHOTS TAKEN WHILE PASSING THE AREA -OFTEN ON A SUNDAY LUNCHTIME.
IT'S EITHER A COINCIDENCE THAT THERE ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE CAR THERE OR EVIDENCE OF A MUCH MORE GENERAL PROBLEM.

22 Oct 2007 - another cyclist forced into oncoming traffic by the precision parking of the worlds "safest" car.

18th June 2007 - a girl is forced to ride against the traffic flow as cars block the cycle lanes and footway.

Clearly the guy has a job to do - no doubt covered by a risk assessment - but what about the hazard presented by dumping the van there?

It's a different sort of green-laning.
A wind up - surely?

Kwik Park for a Kwik Fit?

No parking - no loading - so just block the pavement
- there's a proper layby opposite! - Aug 2006

It's a 24hr problem in a 24hr world!

Truck on track -10th Nov 2006
Why use the forecourt when there's a nice
wide foot and cycleway available?

Thank goodness for the footway " Escape Route"!
( Shouldn't the cycle sign be changed to a lorry?)

Delivering Peace of Mind?
...well no ...not really!

The delivery was to Murrays VW garage on the opposite side
of the road which ironically has two available car parks and the
driver wouldn't have had to cross an extremely busy main road

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother,
`Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye
Matthew 7. 1-11.
